I named him Hero
I was driving down a 4 lane highway in a remote area, all the cars and trucks were going very fast and it was raining . I don't know how I spotted him but as I sped along I noticed a bony back in the tall grass. I pulled over and backed down the shoulder ( not a very safe thing to do). I found a very starved and banged up little beagle, so hungry he barely noticed me as he nosed the grass for a scent of food. I scooped him up went to the nearest exit and found an animal hospital.
I called all the area shelters but no one was looking for him I think he had been on his own for quite some time.
He had been hit by a car, his leg had been chewed on by something, and he was starved nearly to death.
I brought him home and he spent 10 days at the animal hospital getting healthy again.
I named him Hero
I had a dog and two cats already and really didn't want a beagle, I had read that they were a handful to keep.I was going to find him a home but in just a few days I was so in love with this sweet gentle guy that there was no way I would ever let him go.
