These are family dogs not just hunting dogs !
This is
Parker, we adopted him in August of 2003. He was so skinny and malnourished it was a sin. He was afraid of everything but loved attention. When we adopted him we had no idea how old he was or what he had been through. The first couple months were a real struggle, he was sick and on
a lot of antibiotics, we were so afraid that there were going to be some serious complications. But up to this point, everything is OK. Parker is
in good health as we take him to the vet quite often. He is approximately 16 months old, but we are unsure of his exact age, he has gained a significant amount of weight since the adoption and has loads of energy, too much sometimes,
ha ha!!
He loves the outdoors and smelling the grass or eating the snow, he loves to play with the cat next door, and also play with the company we have at our house. He loves to eat, especially when it is a treat like cheese or
wieners, anything he shouldn't get. There are times we still have trouble getting him to eat, we have changed his food a few times, but we hit gold with one, I can't remember what it's called.
He likes to sleep throughout the day unless it is nice outside, then we put him out on his
leash and he goes nuts. He loves to snuggle with
us (and he is getting better at it as we figure he was deprived of attention) and watch TV. He loves to play with children and he doesn't make much noise at all, except cry. He cries for everything and usually gets his way, he is so smart!! He does all his
tricks (sit, sit pretty, paw, lie, roll over, even stand up). He is such am amazing and lovable dog, everyone talks about him, he also loves to go to work with his "dad". He works with the mill and is outside most of the time and Parker loves every minute of going to work with him. He also loves skidooing and running after the skidoo, he is so active and smart!!
We are so happy that we adopted him, and would advise people to realize that these are family dogs not just hunting dogs, I don't know if Parker would even know what a rabbit is,
ha ha!! And I am positive he won't find out. He is a family dog and very happy to be one. He loves us as much as we love him, and he is very content now with us and we hope to continue to make him happy, as he is our pride and joy.
