"Uno" the adorable 15" beagle claimed "Best in Show" at the Westminster 2008 Dog Show. This merry little hound stole the hearts of everyone who followed the competition.  Not sine 1983 has a hound of any kind won "Best in Show".  Now the Beagle truly is North America's #1 dog...  And we agree 100% - Way to go Uno 5th Annual - For the "Love of Beagles" Silent Auction & Chocolate Buffet A Huge Success !!!!!!! Rescued by an animal control officer in a small NL community, he made his way into the care of Beagle Paws.  Lucky was in very poor health when we received him and even had to have his tail amputated.  He still has some aliments due to his age and very poor eye sight and partial deafness.  But, this super sweet boy is enjoying his retirement years in a very special foster home.  For the first time in his life Click here to read more... Congratulations !! CONGRATULATIONS to Shelter Director, Anne Marie Brown, Clarenville Area SPCA on winning the IFAW Animal Welfare Volunteer Award for 2007. This honour was presented today to Anne Marie by IFAW Director, Olivier Bonnet, for her dedication and tireless energy in rescuing abandoned and abused animals. Beagle Paws is proud to support the Clarenville Area SPCA in their efforts.  We admire their dedication to NOT euthanizing dogs and their development of a super foster program for their shelter animals.  Keep up the great work !! Happy New Year & Happy Anniversary 2007 was a very successful year for Beagle Paws, we placed close to 200 homeless beagles in loving adoptive homes.  Of course none of this could have been made possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers across Canada.  Their love and compassion for beagles is outstanding.  2008 marks the 5th year of operation for our organization, in these 5 years we have found homes for over 750 beagles in need.  We look forward to all that the New Year has to bring and are confident there are good things in store for the many beagles that still need our help.
