ABOUT US

Beagle Paws Rescue began in 2003 to rescue mistreated Beagles. Since then, we have become Canada's largest beagle rescue group, re-homing Beagles right across the country.

A BEAGLE TALE

When you adopt from Beagle Paws Rescue you’ll quickly realize you’re the one who has been saved. This mischievous breed, known for curious noses and eternal puppy-dog eyes, are loyal, steadfast companions. As a rescue organization, we strive to find the perfect dog for your family and to ensure this affectionate, but often neglected, breed is protected and loved.

A LEG (OR PAW) UP

Once known as a hunting breed or outdoor dog, these clever pets are too often mistreated, abandoned, or left to live outside on a chain or in enclosed pens with no human interaction or compassion. Beagle Paws Rescue was established in 2003 to bring the breed indoors and has become the country’s largest beagle rescue group. Since then we’ve become Canada's largest beagle rescue group. We've rescued and rehomed thousands of dogs throughout Canada and established chapters and connections in every province - but there’s still much work to be done.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Beagle Paws Rescue is a community; a pack of supportive animal lovers, with support throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, and across the country.  Our commitment is to rescue and rehome these special dogs, facilitate their adoptions and educate the general public about the intelligent, happy beagle breed.

Come meet your new best friend at Beagle Paws Rescue.

FACTS & MYTHS

MYTH:

Beagles should be kept in outdoor enclosures or pens.

FACT:

Any dog that does not receive proper bathing and grooming will emit an unpleasant smell. Well cared for beagles are clean and smell no different than other house dogs.

FACT:

Beagles are one of the most affectionate and loyal of all dog breeds, making them great pets. Though beagles can be stubborn, they are eager to learn and only need a consistent routine and plenty of praise.
