Beagle Paws was the
vision of
founder Sheila Lewis, in 2002 she made it her mission to bring
awareness of the plight of Beagles in the province of Newfoundland. Her
promotion of the Beagle as "More than just hunting dogs, they are pets
too !" attracted a lot of attention. Other passionate Beagle lovers
came forward with offers to help. In January of 2003 the official
Beagle Paws organization was formed.
Founded in St. John's, Newfoundland it has now grown to be Canada's
largest Beagle Rescue Organization, with an established volunteer base
in British Columbia, Alberta, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Our
non-profit
registered charity relies on the support of dedicated volunteers all
over Canada to help save abandoned and neglected Beagles on a daily
basis.
