UPDATE: The City of St.
John's has approved revised Animal Control regulations click here
While we are
pleased with this step in the right direction, with the biggest step
for Beagles being the prohibiting of above ground raised pens, we feel
that there is still room for improvment on these by-laws.
- Back yard breeding needs to be addressed
- Chaining of dogs for extended periods also needs to be addressed
YOU can make a
difference, email one of the below politicians and let them know that
you
think that it is UNACCEPTABLE for Beagles to continue to live in these
conditions in the province of
Newfoundland and Labrador.
Submit your photo of beagles living
in unfit conditions for our "Page of Shame" --- all submissions will be
kept confidential and only the community name will be listed below the
photo.

This
trailer from ON was spotted at a rest stop in NL. The beagles are
in plastic tubs with holes punched in them for air. They are wrapped in
plastic to secure them to the ATVs

Close up of one of the tubs with a beagle
nose sticking out to get some air.
