UPDATE - Ivy has made a full recovery from her surgery and is doing great, she is gaining weight and enjoying the good life. She is now ready to find her forever home, so contact us to find out more about adopting Ivy.

IVY'S STORY

Ivy came to us in very poor condition, weak and hungry. It was apparent that she required immediate surgery to remove a large mass from her belly that she had obviously lived with for some time. Upon examination it was discovered that this mass was actually a "Iguinal Hernia" located in the groin area.

Fortunately our vet was able to spay her during the Hernia removal surgery.

Ivy is in recovery mode right now from this surgery and is quickly gaining her strength. A whole new world has opened up for Ivy. Even though she is a senior dog, she is now discovering new things just like a puppy. Such as the adventures of exploring the kitchen cupboards when no one is looking, discovering squeaky toys for the first time. And of course all those yummy doggy treats that she is quickly becoming fond of.

It is only through fundraising efforts of our hard working volunteers and through donations from kind individuals that we are able to provide expensive veterinary care for the beagles no matter what their age.
