“Kirby” (Jan. 19, 2014)

A Tribute to Kirby: Today we said good bye to one of our oldest and most beloved Beagle Paws dogs. Kirby was pushing close to 17 years of age. His little body could not keep up with him anymore and it was time to let him cross the rainbow bridge with dignity. Although Kirby never did find a forever home while in the care of Beagle Paws. He did find “forever LOVE”. Every volunteer who met Kirby loved and cared for him like one of their own. Kirby’s life before Beagle Paws was lived at the end of a short chain tied to a terrible dog house. Once in our care Kirby never had to look back or think about that horrible life again. Instead his days were full of trips to the dog park, lots of great food and most importantly lots of love. This story is not meant to make you sad but to help everyone celebrate the great life that Kirby had in his last years. It is not the quantity of days he had with us but the quality that counts. You will be forever in our hearts little Kirby boy.
