“Mason” (May 2011)

On a warm day in 2008 we found the beagle paws website and decided to volunteer. Mason came from the back and from the minute I started playing with him we bonded. We brought you home on a cold december day that year and you never left us since. We’ve been through med changes, seizures, vet visits and so many trials and tribulations. But after all that you remained happy, active and reminded us what life is all about.

When we decided to move to montreal there was no question you were going to be coming with us. So we packed up and headed west. Times were hard and jobs were lean. But we managed to find time to spend with you. You never minded, you still stayed happy. We weathered the storms and when we finally got settled you didn’t change anything. You caused trouble, made us laugh, and made us happy. All it took was a look, a quiet howl, or just a wag of the tail.

On May 2nd,2011 we made the decision that you didn’t deserve to suffer with painful arthritis and other health issues any more and took you across the rainbow bridge. Every so often something comes into our lives and leaves their footprints or paw prints in this case on our hearts and lives. We will surely miss you mason. We’ll see you on the other side and I hope that you remember us and give us that signature mason howl.

We’d like to thank Beagle Paws for allowing us to adopt mason knowing we’d take good care of him even though he was a special needs beagle. We’d also like to thank the volunteers at Beagle Paws for your support, love and care when we were in Newfoundland by helping us get him get to the vet when he needed to go. You are all truly heroes and kind souls. God Bless you. And a special thanks to all those who loved mason… laughed at his silly things and let him into your hearts. I’m sure he is grateful to have had a wonderful last 2 1/2 years.

Melanie made a tribute video and it is posted on youtube. Please visit the VIDEO and leave your comments:

God bless you all
