“Baby” (March 2011)

We only had Baby for a short time, she was the best friend (and dog!) we could have ever asked for and the time we had with her was not nearly enough. Every day she taught us the meaning of unconditional love and we will never forget her. People tell us that she was lucky to have found and been loved by us, but we feel as if we were the lucky ones. We will always love and miss you Baby.
Poem for Baby
I began to grow weak and suffer with pain
You did what must be done; it was humane
I understand that it made you sad
But for me it ended all of the bad
Although my tail has for the last time waved
From pain and suffering I have been saved
Not that I’m gone I know that you’ll weep
You might even find it hard to sleep
But I will try to wipe away your tears
Because I am always with you, I’m fine! I’m here!
And when it’s time for you to cross the great divide
I’ll rush to greet you and stand by your side
I’ll show you everything that there is to see
But for now be happy, then come home and be with me
Love your foster mom Jennifer, foster dad Keith, and foster furry brother Jake.

“Miss Hattie” (March 2011)

Miss Hattie came to us a short time ago with medical problems. Even through her illness she was a happy little girl who was always wagging her tail. She loved nothing more than someone to sit on the floor with her and scratch her ear or to just talk to her. Our wish for Hattie was that she could get well enough to enjoy her last days in a forever home. It was not meant to be, her heart failed and she left us way to soon. Our hearts are sad Hattie that we couldn’t make you better and we will miss you.
